Software Development in Hastings

Software for Hastings businesses

Hastings is famous for 1066, but its modern economy is built on the sea, visitors and a strong creative community. The Stade, on the Old Town beach, is home to Europe's largest beach-launched fishing fleet, with its distinctive black net huts, fish markets and seafood sellers. Hastings Pier, the castle ruins, the cliff railways and the Old Town's independent shops draw visitors, and Hastings Contemporary gallery sits beside the fishing beach.

Artists, makers, designers and small creative businesses have moved to Hastings and St Leonards in growing numbers, attracted by the coast and lower costs than Brighton or London. East Sussex College has a campus in the town, and the Conquest Hospital is a major employer. Business parks at Ivyhouse Lane and the Queensway area hold light industry and manufacturing, and the link road to Bexhill has opened up new employment land.

Software for Hastings businesses usually needs to be practical and affordable to run:

• Catch, sales and traceability records for fishing and seafood businesses
• Online shops and stock management for makers, galleries and independent retailers
• Booking and availability systems for holiday lets, guest houses and tours
• Rostering and care records for care homes and home care agencies
• Order and production tracking for small manufacturers

Seafood traders need to record where and when fish were caught and who bought them, both for regulation and for customers who value local provenance. A simple web app on a phone or tablet can capture that at the point of sale. For makers and galleries, a well-built WooCommerce or Shopify shop linked to stock and accounts often makes more difference than any amount of social media.

How we work with Hastings clients

We work remotely from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, using video calls, shared staging sites you can click around in and short build stages you can see. Every project gets a fixed-price quote after a free initial chat and a short scoping stage. You own the code and the data. We have been building software and integrations for UK businesses since 2006.

1. Free chat

Tell us the problem in plain English: what you do now, what goes wrong and what "better" looks like. No charge, no obligation.

2. Scoping

We map the processes, systems and data involved, agree what is in and out, and write it down so there are no surprises.

3. Fixed-price quote

You get a fixed price for the agreed scope, or a phased plan for bigger builds, so you can start small and prove it works.

4. Build and test

We build in short stages you can see and try, test against real data, then go live carefully with a rollback plan.

5. Hand over and look after

You own the code and the data. We can host it, support it and keep improving it, or hand it to your own team.
