> dijitul developments builds staff target management software for UK businesses: systems that set targets for people, teams and branches, track progress automatically from your sales, CRM or job data, and calculate commission or bonuses. We have built target management software since our early bespoke work. Each project starts with a free chat and a fixed-price quote.

## Problems this solves

- Targets live in a spreadsheet that a manager updates once a month
- Staff only find out how they did after the month has closed
- Commission calculations cause disputes and take a day to work out
- Different branches measure performance in different ways
- The CRM has the data but no sensible way to compare it to targets

## Key facts

- Staff target management software has been part of dijitul's bespoke work since the early days
- Targets set per person, team, branch or product line, by week, month or quarter
- Progress calculated from live data, not self-reported numbers
- Commission and bonus rules coded once and applied consistently
- Leaderboards and personal dashboards for staff, roll-ups for managers
- Role-based access so people only see what they should

## Why we build this

Staff target management software is one of the bespoke web-based systems dijitul built in its early development years, alongside automated billing software. The problem it solves has not changed: managers set targets in one place, the results live in another, and the two only meet when someone builds a spreadsheet at month-end. By then it is too late to do anything about a slow start.

Software that links targets to live data changes the conversation. Staff can see where they stand every day. Managers can spot who needs support in week two, not week five. Commission is calculated the same way every time.

It also changes how targets are set. With a year or two of real performance data in one place, managers can base next year's targets on what people actually achieved, adjusted for territory, seasonality and experience, rather than adding ten percent to last year and hoping. Reviews become a conversation about evidence rather than impressions, which most staff prefer.

## What can be measured

Targets work best when they come from data you already record. Common metrics we connect include:

- **Sales:** revenue, margin, units, new accounts or average order value, from your CRM, ecommerce platform or accounting package.
- **Activity:** calls, meetings, quotes issued or demos booked, from the CRM or phone system.
- **Operations:** jobs completed, first-time fix rate, response times or utilisation, from job management systems.
- **Customer:** renewals, retention or review scores, where you have reliable data.
- **Compliance:** training completed or audits passed, for regulated teams.

We avoid metrics that can only be self-reported. If a number cannot be traced to a record, it causes arguments.

## Setting targets properly

The system lets managers set targets for each person, team, branch or product line, and for any period: weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual. Targets can be phased to reflect seasonality, adjusted for holidays and part-time hours, and changed mid-period with the history kept. Team targets can roll up from individual ones or be set top-down and split. New starters can have ramp-up targets for their first months.

A pace indicator compares progress against where someone should be by today, not just against the full target, so a rep at 40% on the 10th of the month is shown as ahead, not behind.

## Commission and bonuses

Commission is where spreadsheets cause most friction. We code your rules once: tiered rates, accelerators above target, thresholds, splits between reps, clawbacks on cancelled or unpaid orders, and caps. Each calculation is stored with the records it used, so a rep can see exactly why their commission is what it is. Managers approve the period, and the system exports the figures for payroll.

Because commission often depends on whether the customer has actually paid, we can read payment status from Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, and only release commission on paid invoices if that is your rule.

## Dashboards that people actually look at

Each person gets a simple dashboard: their targets, progress, pace and the activities that drive the result. Team leaders see their team. Directors see the business. Leaderboards can be switched on where a competitive culture helps and switched off where it would not. Wall-mounted screens in sales offices are a popular addition.

Alerts flag when someone is falling behind pace or when a team target is at risk, by email or Microsoft Teams. For wider reporting, the same data can feed [dashboard and reporting](https://dijituldevelopments.co.uk/dashboard-reporting-development/) tools.

## Data protection and fairness

Performance data is personal data, and staff deserve clarity about what is measured and who can see it. We build role-based permissions so individuals see their own figures, team leaders see their team, and HR or directors see more. An audit log records changes to targets and commission. Under UK GDPR you will want to tell staff what is collected and why, and we can provide the data map to help.

Target software often sits beside a [custom CRM](https://dijituldevelopments.co.uk/crm-development/) or an [intranet](https://dijituldevelopments.co.uk/intranet-development/). Projects start with a free chat, then scoping and a fixed-price quote. ## FAQs

### Can targets update automatically from our CRM?

Yes. dijitul connects target software to your CRM, ecommerce platform, job system or accounting package through their APIs, so progress updates automatically from real records. Staff do not have to self-report numbers, which removes most disputes.

### Can it calculate sales commission?

Yes. dijitul codes your commission rules once, including tiers, accelerators, splits, caps and clawbacks, and stores every calculation with the records it used. Managers approve each period and the figures export for payroll.

### Can commission only be paid on paid invoices?

Yes. The system can read payment status from Xero, QuickBooks Online or Sage and release commission only when the customer has paid, holding back amounts for unpaid or cancelled orders automatically.

### Who can see each person's performance?

You decide. dijitul builds role-based permissions so staff see their own figures, team leaders see their team and directors see everything. Leaderboards are optional. An audit log records changes to targets and commission.

### Have you built this kind of software before?

Yes. Staff target management software was one of the bespoke web-based systems dijitul built in its early development years, alongside automated billing software. Every new build is designed around the client's own metrics and rules.
