# Software Development across Wales

Source: https://dijituldevelopments.co.uk/locations/wales/

> dijitul developments builds bespoke software, web applications and integrations for businesses across Wales, from Cardiff and Swansea to Wrexham and rural Powys. We work remotely from our Mansfield base, and can build bilingual Welsh and English interfaces where you need them. Every project starts with a free chat, then a fixed-price quote.

Wales has a distinct business landscape. South Wales, around Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, holds most of the population and a growing professional services, fintech and creative sector, with Cardiff in particular known for TV and film production. Newport and the surrounding area are home to a compound semiconductor cluster. North East Wales, around Wrexham and Deeside, has a strong advanced manufacturing base with links across the border into Cheshire. Mid and West Wales are more rural, with farming, food production and tourism at the heart of the economy.

Universities including Cardiff University, Swansea University, Bangor University and Aberystwyth University feed research and graduates into local firms, and the Development Bank of Wales backs many growing Welsh businesses.

One thing makes software for Wales genuinely different: language. Public bodies covered by the Welsh Language Standards must offer services in Welsh, and many private businesses choose to as well. That affects how an application is built from the start, not as an afterthought:

- Interface text stored as translatable strings, with Welsh and English versions managed side by side
- Bilingual emails, PDFs and invoices generated in the customer's chosen language
- Language preference saved against each customer or user record
- Search and sorting that handle Welsh characters and digraphs sensibly

Beyond language, Welsh firms need what businesses everywhere need: accounts that sync with Xero or Sage, ecommerce linked to stock, booking systems for holiday lets and attractions, and job management for manufacturers and trades.

dijitul has no Welsh office. We work remotely from Mansfield, using video calls, shared repositories and a staging site so your team can test each stage before it goes live.

### Can you build a bilingual Welsh and English web app?

Yes. We build interfaces with every piece of text stored as a translatable string, so Welsh and English versions can be managed separately and checked by a fluent speaker. Emails, PDFs and notifications can follow each user's language choice. Translation itself is best done by your team or a specialist translator.

### Do you work with businesses in rural Wales?

Yes. Because dijitul works remotely from Mansfield, location makes no difference. We have worked over video and email for years. For rural businesses we also design with weak mobile signal in mind, for example offline-capable forms that sync when a connection returns.

### Can you integrate with the systems we already use?

Usually, yes. Most modern tools such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Shopify, Stripe and Microsoft 365 have well documented APIs. During a free chat we look at what you use, then scope the integration and give you a fixed-price quote before any work starts.
