Source: https://dijituldevelopments.co.uk/locations/merthyr-tydfil/

> dijitul builds bespoke software, web applications and integrations for Merthyr Tydfil businesses, including manufacturers, care providers, retailers, outdoor leisure operators and public sector suppliers across the Heads of the Valleys. We work remotely from Mansfield with regular online check-ins. Every project begins with a free chat and is priced through a fixed-price quote.

Merthyr Tydfil was once the iron capital of the world. In the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the Cyfarthfa and Dowlais ironworks made it the largest town in Wales, and Cyfarthfa Castle, built for the ironmaster Richard Crawshay's family, still overlooks the town. The decline of iron, steel and coal left deep economic scars, and the town has spent decades rebuilding around new industries.

Manufacturing continues on the industrial estates at Pentrebach and Goat Mill Road, with firms in engineering, automotive components, electronics and food. Many are small and medium sized businesses that have grown on a mix of spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tools, and now need production tracking, stock control and integrations with their accounts packages.

Public services are major employers. Prince Charles Hospital serves the Cwm Taf area, and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and other public bodies have offices in the town. Care providers, contact centres and service businesses make up a large share of private employment.

Infrastructure has improved. The dualling of the A465 Heads of the Valleys road has shortened journeys east to the Midlands and west to Swansea, and the town is part of the South Wales Metro rail upgrade. Outdoor tourism is growing, with BikePark Wales near the town and the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) to the north drawing visitors. The Merthyr Tydfil College campus provides technical training for local employers.

Merthyr Tydfil projects we would expect to quote for include:

- Stock and production systems for small manufacturers

### Is bespoke software affordable for a small manufacturer?

It can be, if the scope is right. dijitul starts with a free chat to find the problem worth solving first, then quotes a fixed price for that piece. Many small firms begin with one focused tool, such as stock control, and add to it later.

### Do you cover Aberdare, Ebbw Vale, Pontypridd and the Valleys?

Yes. We work remotely, so businesses in Aberdare, Ebbw Vale, Pontypridd, Tredegar and across the South Wales Valleys get the same service: a free chat, a scoping stage, and a fixed-price quote.

### Can you build an online booking system for bike or outdoor activities?

Yes. We build booking systems with session times, equipment hire, uplift passes, waivers, Stripe payments and staff check-in screens. Capacity rules prevent overbooking, and reports show bookings by day, product and channel.
