> dijitul developments builds iPhone and iPad apps for UK businesses: customer apps, staff apps and companion apps for systems you already run. We build in Swift and SwiftUI or cross-platform, connect the app to a secure API, and take it through App Store review on your own Apple account. Every project gets a fixed-price quote after a free chat.

## Problems this solves

- Your customers keep asking whether there is an app, and there isn't
- An agency built your iOS app years ago and nobody can update it now
- App Store review rejected your build and the reasons make no sense
- Staff use a mobile website on iPads that falls over without Wi-Fi
- Your Android app exists but iPhone users are left out
- You are not sure whether the app should take payments through Apple or Stripe

## Key facts

- Native Swift and SwiftUI, or one cross-platform codebase with Flutter or React Native
- Since 28 April 2026 Apple only accepts uploads built with Xcode 26 and the iOS 26 SDK
- Published under your own Apple Developer account, so you own the listing
- Private staff apps can be distributed through Apple Business Manager instead of the public store
- Account deletion inside the app is required by App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) for apps with sign-up
- Push notifications through Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
- Fixed-price quote after a free chat, and you own the code

## Native Swift or cross-platform?

Most business apps we build for iPhone are cross-platform, because one codebase in Flutter or React Native serves both iOS and Android and halves the work of every later change. We build fully native in Swift and SwiftUI when the app leans hard on Apple-only features: widgets and Live Activities, Apple Watch companions, CarPlay, HealthKit, advanced camera or ARKit work, or when the app only ever needs to run on iPads your company owns.

We explain the trade-off honestly in the free chat. If nobody outside your business will download it, a progressive web app may be quicker to ship and easier to update, and we will say so.

## What Apple requires in 2026

Apple changes the rules every year, and an app that ignores them simply cannot be updated. The ones that matter most right now:

- **Current toolchain.** Apple's upcoming requirements page says that from 28 April 2026, apps uploaded to App Store Connect must be built with Xcode 26 or later using the iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 SDK. You can still support older iPhones by setting a lower deployment target.
- **Account deletion.** If people can create an account in your app, Guideline 5.1.1(v) says they must be able to start deleting it inside the app. Deactivation alone does not count.
- **Privacy details.** Every listing needs accurate privacy labels, and the app needs a privacy manifest declaring why it uses certain system APIs. Third-party SDKs bring their own manifests, so we audit what each library collects.
- **Sign-in options.** If you offer Google or another third-party sign-in, Guideline 4.8 requires an equivalent privacy-focused option, which Sign in with Apple satisfies.

In the UK, the Competition and Markets Authority designated Apple with strategic market status in mobile platforms on 22 October 2025, and in April 2026 accepted commitments from Apple on fairer, more transparent app review. That helps, but it does not remove the guidelines, so we build to them from day one.

## Payments: Apple or Stripe?

This question decides your margins, so we settle it early. Digital content and features unlocked inside the app, such as subscriptions to premium features, normally have to use Apple's in-app purchase. Apple takes a commission; members of its App Store Small Business Program, for developers earning up to 1 million US dollars a year, pay a reduced 15% rate rather than the standard 30%. Physical goods and services used outside the app, such as a trade order, a booking or a delivery, can use your own payment provider. We usually build those with Stripe and Apple Pay, which keeps the full amount with you minus card fees.

## How we build it

The app is the front end. The real work lives in a secure API, usually Laravel or Node.js, that talks to your accounting, CRM or stock systems. See API development. Tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, sensitive local data is encrypted with Data Protection, and Face ID or Touch ID can unlock the app. Data the user needs offline is held locally and synced in the background.

We test on real devices, then run a TestFlight beta with your staff or a group of customers before submission. TestFlight lets you invite external testers by email or a public link, and every build goes through a light beta review first, so surprises come out before App Review proper.

## Your account, your app

We publish under your organisation's Apple Developer Program membership, not ours. Apple charges an annual membership fee for that account; organisations need a D-U-N-S number to enrol, which can take a few days to arrive, so we start it in week one. Your company then owns the bundle ID, the listing, the reviews and the signing keys. If you ever move developer, nothing has to be transferred out of our hands.

For internal apps, Apple Business Manager lets you distribute a custom app privately to your own devices or through your device management tool, without a public listing. After launch, we can keep the app current with each iOS release through app maintenance.

## Getting started

Tell us who the app is for and what it must do. We will look at your existing systems, recommend native, cross-platform or web, and scope the screens and integrations. You then get a fixed-price quote for a defined first release. Many clients start with an MVP and add features once real users have tried it. Get in touch to book the free chat.

## FAQs

### Do you build iOS apps in Swift or cross-platform?

Both. dijitul builds most business apps cross-platform in Flutter or React Native so one codebase covers iPhone and Android. We use native Swift and SwiftUI when the app relies on Apple-only features such as widgets, Live Activities, Apple Watch, CarPlay or HealthKit.

### Who owns the App Store listing?

You do. dijitul publishes under your own Apple Developer Program account, so your business owns the bundle ID, listing, reviews and signing keys. Organisations need a D-U-N-S number to enrol, so we help you start that early.

### Can a staff-only app avoid the public App Store?

Yes. Internal apps can be distributed privately as custom apps through Apple Business Manager, or through your device management tool. Staff get the app on their company devices and it never appears in public App Store search.

### Do we have to use Apple in-app purchase?

Only for digital content or features unlocked in the app. Physical goods and services used outside the app, such as orders, bookings and deliveries, can use your own payment provider. dijitul usually builds these with Stripe and Apple Pay.

### Why was our app rejected by App Review?

Common reasons are missing in-app account deletion, inaccurate privacy details, broken sign-in for the reviewer, or a build made with an out-of-date Xcode. dijitul reads the rejection, fixes the cause and resubmits with clear review notes and a demo account.

### How much does an iOS app cost?

It depends on screens, integrations and offline needs, so dijitul does not publish prices. After a free chat and a short scoping stage, you get a fixed-price quote for a defined first release, and you own the code at the end.
